When Layla F. Saad began an Instagram challenge called #meandwhitesupremacy, she never expected it would spread so quickly. Using step-by-step reflection process. Layla prompted people with white privilege to unflinchingly examine their racist thoughts and behaviors, big and small.
The challenge catalyzed a worldwide awakening for thousands of white-privileged people to begin to take ownership of their personal anti-racism work and the Me and White Supremacy Workbook was downloaded 90,000 times. Based on the original workbook, Me and White Supremacy takes the work deeper to teach readers to understand white privilege and the ways in which they are complicit in upholding white supremacy so that they can stop (often subconsciously) inflicting damage on People of Color and in turn help other white people do better too.
At this time in history, more than ever before, people are asking what they can do to help dismantle white supremacy and where to begin. Layla F. Saad answers: "Begin within. Begin with you and white supremacy."
